Mark Your Calendars!

It looks like Ainsley's first birthday party will be around 3PM on Sunday, February 15. Let me knwo if this is a significant hardship for you. Meg will be getting in on a red eye Saturday morning for the occasion, so I think we'll let her rest a little. Monday, 2/16 should be a holiday for most people.
This will be a faery princess party. Princess clothing will be optional, but Ainsley would prefer you wear somethinng shiny.

Ainsley is 9 months old today!!!

Miss Ainsley is developing right on track, and is a happy little camper.
She is 26 3/4 inches long (45%), 19#, 11.2 oz. (75%) and her head is 17 1/2" (55%).

Harry at this age:Height: 28 1/2 inches (55%)Weight: 22# 1.7 oz. (75%)Head: 18 1/2 (75%)
I suspected Ainsley was a bit more petite...than Harry at least. Harry, her twin 4 years removed.

Ainsley enjoyed her visit to the doctor, until the doctor came in and started poking her. She's pretty attached to mommy these days, which is to be expected. I don't think Harry was, though, which is why Harry is more of a Beagle than a Golden Retriever. He disagrees, but honestly I can barely tell he and Bailey apart these days!

Ainsley also did not like her shots. Please see below. She recovered fairly quickly though.
The only other new news is she doesn't have to eat pureered food anymore. She doesn't like the texture, and the doctor says there is no need, as long as she is feeding herself. Last night she had chicken sausage, edamame and cheerios.

I don't like shots

That hurt...

Yaaay!!!

Ainsley crawled all the way across the room to greet me when I picked her up today, giggling the whole way.
When Kevin got home from work she said "Da Da!" She was so happy!
She's always happy. She's my little golden retriever puppy!

Must be the avocados!

Ainsley has had really nice skin lately. It's been soft, clear, not too ruddy...this is unusual for all of us. Kevin suggested it was the avocados she has been eating. I'm stocking up just in case!

New...

While swinging at the park yesterday, Ainsley said "yaaaaay!"
It's no wonder, I say it to her at least 1,000 times a day.

Today we took her in the backpack to Great Falls. She laughed the whole time.
And she and Harry pretty much both cried when we left. It was awesome.

Ainsley likes gnawing on apples these days. I've been trying to feed her what we eat.
We're working on that with Harry, too.

Voice Recognition

It's official: Ainsley knows who everyone in the house is.
Where's Bailey? Where's Doggie? Ainsley looks down at Bailey. Says "Do(g)"
Where's Brother? Where's Harry? Looks to the right at Harry and says "Ha"
Where's Daddy? Looks at Daddy. Daddy is "Da Da DA"
Turned her around to face me.
Who's Mommy? Big Smile.
LOUD "MA MA MUM!" when I picked her up at Menike's.
Ainsley's awesome!

OBAMA WINS!

I wonder what Ainsley's life will be like, compared to the rest of ours.

Perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself, but I have an image of Utopia in my head.

A race-less society. Unity. Peace.

The US will be a whole lot different from now on. I'm curious to see how she will view it 15 years from now.
